Privacy Policy
How we handle your data. Transparently.
Effective: January 1, 2025 • Last updated: January 15, 2025
TL;DR — The Short Version
- • We collect minimal data: email, license info, basic usage stats
- • We don't sell your data to anyone. Ever.
- • Payment info goes through PayPal, we never see your credit card
- • You can request data deletion anytime (GDPR compliant)
- • We use cookies only for essential functions, no tracking/ads
What We Collect
The data we actually need
We're not in the business of hoarding data. We collect only what's necessary to make Titan work.

- • Device count (max 2)
Usage Data
- • Software version

Plain English: Your email, license key, and basic tech info. That's it. No creepy tracking.
How We Use It
What we do with your data
Every piece of data we collect has a purpose. No fluff, no "future use" nonsense.
- Deliver the Service: Verify your license, activate Titan, keep it running
- Process Payments: Send receipts, handle refunds (via PayPal)
- Provide Support: Answer questions, fix bugs, help you out
- Prevent Abuse: Stop license sharing, detect fraud
- Improve Titan: Fix crashes, optimize performance
- Send Updates: Important announcements only (no spam)
Plain English: We use your data to make Titan work and help you when things break. That's the whole list.
Who Sees It
Data sharing (spoiler: minimal)
We don't sell your data. Period.
We're not an ad company. We make money by selling software, not by selling you.
We may share data with:
PayPal (Payment Processor)
They handle payments. They see your email and payment info. We don't store credit cards.
AWS (Hosting Provider)
Our servers run on AWS. They host data but don't access it.
Legal Authorities (If Required)
If we get a valid legal request, we comply. We'll fight overreach, but we follow the law.
Plain English: Payment processor, hosting provider, and law enforcement (if they have a warrant). Nobody else.
Your Rights
GDPR compliance
If you're in the EU (or anywhere, really), you have rights. We respect them.
→ Access
Request a copy of all data we have on you
→ Correction
Fix inaccurate information
→ Deletion
Delete your account and data
→ Portability
Export your data in a readable format
To exercise any of these rights: titanchess.engine@gmail.com
We'll respond within 30 days (usually faster).
Plain English: Want your data? Ask. Want it deleted? Done. Want to leave? No hard feelings.
Cookies & Tracking
What we don't do
No tracking. No ads. No bullshit.
We use cookies for exactly two things:
- Session Management: Keep you logged in
- License Verification: Remember your activation
We DON'T use:
- Google Analytics (or any analytics)
- Facebook Pixel (or any social tracking)
- Advertising cookies
- Third-party tracking scripts
Plain English: We use cookies to make the site work. That's it. No creepy tracking across the internet.
Security & Retention
How we protect your data
Security: We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL), secure servers, and regular security audits. No system is 100% secure, but we take this seriously.
Data Retention: We keep your data as long as your account is active. After deletion, we may retain some data for:
- Legal compliance (tax records, etc.)
- Fraud prevention
- Dispute resolution
Children's Privacy: Titan is not for kids under 13. If you're a parent and think we collected data from your child, contact us immediately.
Plain English: We encrypt everything. We delete data when you ask. We don't target kids.
Questions?
Privacy policies are usually written by lawyers for lawyers. We tried to make this one readable. If something's unclear, ask us.
We'll update this policy if we make significant changes. We'll email you when we do.
