The Agreement

What happens when you click "I Agree"

By purchasing, downloading, or using Titan Chess, you're entering into a binding contract with us. If you don't agree with these terms, don't use the software.

We're not lawyers pretending to be developers. We're developers who had lawyers write this. The goal: protect both of us while keeping things fair.

Plain English: This is a contract. You're agreeing to follow our rules. We're agreeing to provide you with working software.

Your License

What you're actually buying

You're buying a license to use Titan Chess, not ownership of the software itself. Think of it like renting a really smart chess advisor.

What you CAN do:

  • Install on up to 2 devices simultaneously
  • Use for personal chess analysis and improvement
  • Transfer between your own devices (once per 30 days)

What you CANNOT do:

  • Share your license key with others
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the software
  • Resell or redistribute Titan
  • Use for commercial purposes without explicit permission

Plain English: You can use it on your laptop and phone. Don't give it to your friends or try to crack it open.

The Reality Check

What we're NOT responsible for

Let's be direct: Titan is a powerful chess analysis tool. How you use it is your decision and your responsibility.

Important Disclaimer

Using chess engines during online games may violate the terms of service of chess platforms (Chess.com, Lichess, etc.). We are not affiliated with these platforms. If you get banned, that's on you.

We provide the tool. You decide how to use it. We're not your lawyer, your parent, or your ethics professor.

We are NOT liable for:

  • Account bans or suspensions on third-party platforms
  • Loss of rating, reputation, or tournament eligibility
  • Any consequences of how you choose to use Titan
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Plain English: This is a chess analysis tool. If you use it to cheat and get caught, that's your problem, not ours.

  • • Any reason (or no reason)
  • • Full refund, no questions

NON-REFUNDABLE

  • • After 7 days
  • • Subscription renewals
  • • If license was shared/resold

To request a refund: Email titanchess.engine@gmail.com with your order number. Refunds processed within 5-10 business days.

Plain English: Try it for a week. Don't like it? Get your money back. After that, all sales are final.

Termination

When we can shut you down

We reserve the right to terminate your license if you:

  • Violate these Terms of Service
  • Share or resell your license
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or crack the software
  • Use Titan for illegal activities
  • Abuse our support team (be nice to them, they're human)

If we terminate your license for violation, no refund will be issued.

Plain English: Play by the rules or we'll revoke your access. Don't be a jerk.

Updates & Changes

How we evolve

We're constantly improving Titan. Updates may include new features, bug fixes, or changes to how the software works.

Software Updates: Automatic and free for active license holders. We may occasionally require updates for continued use.

Terms Updates: We can modify these Terms at any time. Major changes will be announced via email. Continued use = acceptance of new terms.

Plain English: We'll keep making Titan better. Sometimes we'll update these rules. We'll let you know when we do.

Contact & Disputes

How to reach us

Got questions? Issues? Want to argue about a clause? We're here.

Dispute Resolution: If we have a disagreement, let's try to work it out like adults before involving lawyers. Email us first. Most issues can be resolved with a conversation.

Plain English: Email us if something's wrong. We'll fix it. No need for drama.

One More Thing

We built Titan for chess players who want to improve. We believe in transparency, fair dealing, and treating users like intelligent adults. These terms reflect that philosophy.

If something in these terms seems unfair or unclear, let us know. We're open to feedback.
